David Lauder was born in Rome in 1943, where in 1959 he discovers his artistic vocation looking at Modigliani's works exhibited at the Galleria d'Arte moderna. In 1960 he moved to Naples, participating extensively in cultural and political life of the city where the artistic avant-garde research are intertwined to the experiences of the student movement in a climate of deep intellectual and social renewal. In 1991 he moved to Siena and in 2003 in Umbria, where he currently lives in the hills of Trasimeno. painting was the constant activity of all his life, essentially self-taught. Has practiced for years and other forms of intaglio engraving. His research has one constant aim: reach a complex simplicity through the use of different materials and different pictorialmaterials.
