Biography Luca Caccioni

Was born in 1962 in Bologna, where he currently lives and works.

He attended art school and then the Academy of fine arts of his town where she graduated in painting in 1985.

In the same year he joined the Group A.G. or at the beginning, where she deals with image and communication, activities that drive freely over the subsequent years until assuming the role of art and Creative Director.

From 1988 along with the artistic and exhibition activities, teaches painting and Visual Arts. He has been Professor Professor of painting at the Academy of fine arts in Brera and Palermo. Now holds the Chair of painting at the Academy of fine arts in Bologna.

The first significant exhibits date back to the early 1990s, by participating in "Nuova Officina Bolognese" at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna of Bologna in 1990 and the first solo show at Galleria Spazia in the same town in 1991.

Her research moves in the field of painting, overlapping unusual materials and contemporaries such as transparencies, on which he paints forms, signs and places drawn from a personal memory and from the suggestions coming from different cultures and different historical periods. During the 1990s holds a series of personal exhibitions abroad and in Italy, in galleries like Gianni Giacobbi of Palma, Study the city of Verona, Friendly in Florence, Marconi in Milan (1993). In 1994 he won the Premio Michetti.

His first solo exhibition in a public space at the Palazzina dei Giardini di Modena, organized by the town in 1997. On this occasion it acts directly on the exhibition space and exposes an install and some sculptures, opening the field of research to these mediums, according to what will a constant practice of his research.

In 1996 and in 2004 he was invited and took part in the Rome Quadriennale. Always in those years an intense exhibition activities in Italy and abroad, at the German Academy Villa Massimo in Rome and Barcelona and Greene Gallery Sales personal Gallery in Geneva; in 1998 with a solo show at the open space of the Galleria d'Arte Moderna of Bologna the following years saw strengthening the relationship of Caccioni with galleries like Lorenzelli in Milan, Canning and Uecker in Basel, Otto Gallery in Bologna.

It's all these years a continuous representation of his work at international fairs such as Art Basel, Miami, Cologne, Brussels, Frankfurt, Zurich, Paris. In 2004 held a solo show at Galleria Oredaria, Rome, accompanied by a catalogue published by Skira.

The MART Museum of Trento and Rovereto exposes him in View "For Example," works from the Unicredit collection. His work in permanent collections of Italian and foreign foundations and museums. In 2006 exposes "hypnosis", a new cycle of works for the staff at Otto Gallery Bologna and "strategy of the carob", personal exhibition in Basel. In 2007 he was invited by the V Foundation at F and participates in the Premio Agenore Fabbri-current locations of Italian art.

Founding research in parallel to the poetic, these days the top of the loop, numerous and tireless work on major theatrical backdrops, the "Lotophagie" that esporr in foreign and Italian art fairs International, at the Museo Michetti and Ragghianti Foundation, and later will result in personal and collective exhibitions in Toulouse, Bologna and Milan.
